Dear House Reps and Classmates:
May 20th is just around the corner.The organizers of the Reunion are eager for the greatest participation we have ever had. Fifty-five years for the Class of '55 is indeed a milestone. Some of us have suffered defeats along the way; others have soared with accomplishment, but for sure not without downturns in our lives. Whatever our current status, we are "survivors" and that is a powerful word and a significant place to be. Therefore, this is an appeal to all our classmates to make the effort to come to the Reunion on May 20th-23rd and to contribution financially to the best of your ability. (No gift is too little and it will help to enable someone else to have the incredible empowering Smith education that we enjoyed.) If you want to join in some aspect of making various preparations for the program, etc., do not hesitate to send in your name to Pat, Diane or Linda. We want you there, and the house that has the greatest number of classmates returning with receive a prize!

PS My good friend and Co-chair of House Reps, Gail Ward Powell, has endured a tough period of illness, but she has come through with strength and optimism. She and I have not communicated recently, but I know that she would want to say exactly what I have written. She and I are a team and she will soon be sending her own greetings and messages.
